Welcome to my page!
I have a strong interest in biology undergraduate education and ecology research in the field and the lab.
In the classroom, I employ the principles of scientific teaching. I emphasize alignment between learning objectives and assessments, and investigate new ways to engage students and increase learning achievements.
My research interests include population ecology, landscape ecology, population genetics, animal behavior, and conservation biology.

I address questions that will help to inform management and conservation of local wildlife with an emphasis on amphibian and reptile populations.

I also collaborate on a variety of projects related to stream ecology and conservation in York County.

I co-teach a project-based course called Ecological Action. Students are getting real world experience with the problems of urban streams and how we can improve habitat for wildlife on campus.

Emily Garrigan 17' is one of my former research students and now we are collaborating on projects! West Shore Wildlife Center helps hundreds of wildlife in need each year.
